Faculty Advisor
The YCACM Chapter is advised by Professor Judah Diament – Chair of the Yeshiva College Computer Science Department.
Elections
Elections for the next year’s government will be held each year before the end of the Spring Semester. Every Yeshiva College Computer Science student, defined by the declaration of Academic Major on file with the Yeshiva University Registrar, can hold office.
The President and all Vice Presidents must hold ACM memberships. There is a (nominal) cost associated with this membership and it must be paid by the elected officer.
The position of YCACM President can only be filled by a student who, upon leaving office after the following election, will continue to be a YCCS student for 2 more semesters. This requirement is in place to ensure a smooth transition each year – the previous president will advise the current government. No such restrictions apply to Vice Presidents.
Elections are overseen by the YCACM Faculty Advisor and candidates must file their intent to run for office with him. Should there be too many candidates for a position, the Faculty Advisor reserves the right to run a primary.
Funding
Each semester, it is the responsibility of the YCACM President and VP of Communications to file for Club Status with the Yeshiva College Student Association. On campus events must be cleared with the Yeshiva University Office of Student Life. As an official Yeshiva University Club, YCACM will be eligible to request funding from the YCSA for events.
The President, or one of the Vice Presidents, must submit a report of club activities to the ACM at the end of each year – this maintains the Chapter’s good standing with the ACM and ensures the continuance of the Chapter.
As the Chapter develops, funding may come from corporate sponsors and/or alumni. Please contact us if you would like to contribute to future chapter activities.
Chapter financials will be accounted for in our annual filing with the ACM.
